This Privacy Policy explains how Innovaiden, Inc. ("Innovaiden", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Treat Map iOS app and its companion web service (together, "Treat Map"). Treat Map is a neighborhood trick-or-treat map organized by real neighbors, with organizer-vetted houses.
If anything here is unclear, contact us at admin@innovaiden.com.
1. What Treat Map is
Treat Map lets neighbors share a private, per-neighborhood map of homes handing out treats on Halloween. A neighborhood organizer approves the houses that appear. People can join a neighborhood (publicly listed or by invite code), register their own house on the map, RSVP, leave a short review, and see which houses are handing out treats in real time. Access to a neighborhood's details is limited to that neighborhood's members and, for publicly listed neighborhoods, to people who can view its public map.
2. Information we collect
Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and a password, or — with Sign in with Apple — the name and email Apple shares (including Apple's private relay email if you choose to hide yours). We also collect your birth year to confirm you meet our minimum age and to comply with children's-privacy rules (see Section 7).
House listing information. If you register a house on the map, we collect the street address, an optional floor/apartment, an optional door or entry code, a display name shown on the map ("name on door"), your phone number and email (used by the organizer to contact you about your listing), your treat-window times, and any note you add. Addresses and map pins are visible to people who can view that neighborhood; door codes, phone numbers, and email addresses are never shown to other trick-or-treaters — door codes are visible only to signed-in members when the organizer enables them, and phone/email only to you and the organizer.
Location. With your permission, the app uses your device location to center the map on your neighborhood (approximate location) and, when you tap "find me," to show your position precisely. You can register a house by typing its address without sharing device location. You can turn location off in system settings at any time.
Content you add. Reviews, thumbs-up reactions, "out of treats" reports, and messages you submit.
Purchase information. Treat Map does not currently sell subscriptions or in-app purchases. If that changes, purchases will be processed by Apple and we will receive only purchase state, never your payment card details.
Technical data. Standard server logs (IP address, timestamps, request metadata) for security and abuse prevention, and per-feature counts to enforce limits.
What we do NOT collect. No advertising identifiers, no cross-app or cross-site tracking, no contacts, no DNA or health data. We do not sell or rent personal information — to anyone, ever.
3. How we use information
- To run Treat Map: show the neighborhood map, place approved houses, sync status (handing out / out of treats) in real time, and let organizers moderate their neighborhood.
- To communicate: send account emails (verification codes, password resets) and, only with your consent, event or sponsor updates.
- To keep the service safe: prevent abuse, spam, and fraudulent listings, and let organizers review reported houses and flagged reviews.
- To comply with law and our minimum-age and parental-consent obligations.
We do not use your content to train advertising or third-party AI models.
4. Who can see what
- Map, addresses, and pins of approved houses are visible to people who can view that neighborhood (its members, plus anyone for publicly listed neighborhoods).
- Door codes are shown only to signed-in members, and only when the organizer turns that setting on. They are never shown to anonymous visitors.
- Phone number and email on a house listing are visible only to you and your neighborhood's organizer(s) — never to other attendees.
- Your account email is never shown to other members.
- Reviews and reactions you post are visible to people who can view the house.
5. Information about other people
If you register a house, or if an organizer adds a house on behalf of a neighbor who is not using the app, that listing describes a real address. Only add a house you are entitled to list, and only share a door code you are entitled to share. You can remove a house you own at any time; organizers can remove any house in their neighborhood.
6. Sharing and processors
We share information only with service providers that help us operate Treat Map — cloud hosting and email delivery (Amazon Web Services, including Amazon SES for email), and mapping/geocoding services used to place pins. Apple processes Sign in with Apple and any future purchases. We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of people using the service.
7. Children's privacy (16+)
Treat Map is intended for people 16 and older, and account creation requires a birth year confirming you meet that minimum. We do not knowingly create accounts for children under 16. Accounts belonging to people under 18 cannot receive marketing emails unless a parent or guardian has provided verifiable consent through our parental-consent flow. If you believe a child under 16 has created an account, contact us at admin@innovaiden.com and we will delete it.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live (including the EU/EEA under GDPR and U.S. states such as California), you have rights to access, correct, delete, and export your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can:
- Edit or delete your house from the app at any time.
- Delete your account from Settings -> Account. Deleting your account removes your houses (and their map listings, addresses, and door codes), your reviews and reactions, your memberships, and your personal data, and — for Sign in with Apple accounts — revokes the Apple token we hold.
- Control marketing email in Settings.
To exercise any right, or if you have a privacy question, email admin@innovaiden.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
9. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account exists and as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data and house listings as described above, except where we must retain limited records to comply with law, resolve disputes, or prevent abuse.
10. Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and a private database that is not exposed to the public internet. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to limit who can see sensitive fields such as door codes.
11. International transfers
We are based in the United States and use U.S.-based cloud infrastructure. If you use Treat Map from outside the United States, your information will be processed in the United States under appropriate safeguards.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of Treat Map after an update means you accept the revised policy.
